Whether you are in the performing arts or not, we would like to invite you to be a part of the Wake the Arts Center.

The Wake the Arts Center supports projects that combine the arts (music, theatre, dance, art, art history) with each other and/or with other disciplines, centers, and programs. We support project proposals from WFU faculty, students, and staff that range in size from classroom visits to multi-performance events open to the WFU and greater Winston-Salem communities. Using the intense, personal connections created by artistic collaboration, the Wake the Arts Center builds on the already high quality of artistic work at Wake Forest and invigorates the intellectual and cultural life of the university with interdisciplinary projects both large and small.

What We Fund

From 2020 to 2024, the Wake the Arts Center (previously IAC) fueled 87 interdisciplinary projects. Our most typically funded project types include course enhancements, performance projects, guest artist visits, commissioned works, exhibitions, panel discussions, receptions, lectures, and research and conference support. Wake the Arts is committed to furthering the mission of the R.I.D.E. framework. We aim to continue ensuring that our projects involve artists or collaborators who are reflective of diverse representation. Furthermore, we aim to collaborate with diverse partners in local, regional and national communities.

We would love to help you bring your project to life.
