This project merged the arts with STEM disciplines through an arts commission by Engineering faculty Erin Henslee and Lauren Lowman. They commissioned student artist Julia Powers (‘23) to create 9 portraits of underrepresented figures in STEM fields. These paintings were then digitized into postcards and shared through online platforms. The project supported a larger initiative called HiddenSTEM that seeks to create more inclusive and diverse spaces in STEM fields. This project remains ongoing.
