LUV It (Vesuvius)

As a course enhancement for Wanda Balzano’s study abroad program in Italy WFU Learning Under Vesuvius, the IAC supported a curated collection of diverse local music and dance traditions and events that were co-sponsored by the Sant’Anna Institute. The programming included a lecture and demonstration of Neapolitan music, discussion of the Italian relationship to tango via Argentina, interactive tango lesson in collaboration with local university students, readings about queer and feminist tango, and a music/poetry event designed to highlight sustainability, art, and culture in Southern Italy.
